Water

by Phillip

Plenty of water you may think
Plenty of water you can drink.
The water is all around
Water that's in the ground
And I can't think
How it would be without a drink.

Smoke

by Phillip

Smoke smoke everywhere
All goes up in the air
Makes the ozone layer thin
Letting all the sun rays in.

The Fearless Knight.
by Chrissy

The fearless knight drew out his sword,
Standing alone to protect his lord.
Outside the palace, a fiery breeze,
>From a malevolent dragon with a fiery sneeze.
Frightful cry behind the walls,
Voices echoing through the halls,
A cry for help from up above,
The princess cry out, "Be careful my love!"
Lifeless bodies left upon the ground,
>From brave knights that once sat at the table so round.
One swipe to his left, a swipe to his right,
He knew it was going to a very long fight.
With one wounded arm and a slash on his side,
The dragon thought the knight had died.
But It was wrong,
For up from the dust our hero still strong,
And back to protect his palace,
>From this dangerous outside malice.
The knight struck at the dragon's heart,
With the power of a speeding dart.
He had victory at last,
The dragon's threat now past.

CITY

by Georgia

Looming buildings,
As high as the sky,
Tall, tall tower,
Oh so high.
A flock of pigeons,
In the city square
A group of parrots,
If they dare.
Busy people,
Rushing away,
Lunch hour is over,
For another day.
Honking of horns,
Combustion of smoke,
All colored cars,
That people provoke.
Lights are flashing,
The city is dark,
A few cars, some people,
As the city night life starts.

The Two Macaws

By Chrissy

Gliding, swiftly through the clear blue sky,
Shooting through the clouds up, up so high,
Two Macaws swoop down so fast,
To reach their home at last, at last.
Frightful cries from down below,
The bulldozers all lined up in a row.
The animals all run, shaking with fear,
But the machines surrounded them far and near.
The humans knocked down the trees with pleasure,
So old and great what a marvelous treasure.
The two Macaws watch their home disappear,
And sadly they turn, for a place far from here.

The Mousie's Revenge

by Anna

The mouse tiptoes quietly,
His breath lighter than the breeze,
His mind savoring the moment,
When he can take the cheese.

He slides around the weakening light,
Moving ever so slow,
Waiting for the moment when
His father yells "GO, GO , GO!"

Almost at the entrance,
The mouse, he is so scared
When his Father yells the death command,
A cat leaps out, teeth bared

How does he face this fearsome beast?
The young mouse does not know,
But when he sees the latest cartoon,
An idea begins to grow

He ducks through the cat's widespread legs,
Into a nearby gap,
The cat, he tries giving chase,
But down comes the trap, SLAP!

Children in the Early Days

by Anna

I am a child in the Dandenongs,
A child in Emerald Town,
With a chook and all its chickies,
With coats of golden down.

My brothers and my sisters,
My Mother and Father too,
Jimmy's bag of marbles,
And a goat called Mary-Lou.

My Dad, he's building a hut,
But for now we live in a tent
Like all the others in
Our little settlement.

The weathers getting hotter,
But to complain, that would be rude,
After all, to our parents
We're just the little brood.

My Mother's going shopping,
To the General Store
With jars and jars of lollies
And a lumpy dusty floor.

Mary's going with her
And Jimmy and Louise
But I stay at home to help my Dad
In the evening breeze.

Kookaburras calling
Right throughout the land.
To live anywhere else, I think
You simply must be mad.

So that's the story of Emerald
From a kid's point of view.
Read some adult's poem
If you think I lead you astrew.

No One Cares!

by Holly

Shattering glass,
Just like rain,
Breaking up and causing pain,
Plastic bags,
That can choke,
Many people think it's one big joke,
Metal cans,
Cuts and soars,
Stacked up high by garbage laws,
Cigarettes,
May cause a fire,
The destruction grows higher and higher,
Aerosol cans,
Acid fume,
To our atmosphere they mean doom,
Beer bottles,
End up in the sea,
Floating around under you and me,
Garbage Cans,
Spilling everywhere,
No one ever seems to care.

Six Little Black Ants

by Holly

Six little black ants,
Standing on a leaf,
Doing the cha-cha dance,
One found a scrap of beef,
And then there where five.

Five little black ants,
Climbing up a stalk,
The leader's was named Lance,
One stabbed him with a mini fork,
And then there where four.

Four little black ants,
Stringing off a flower,
Bungi jumping by the belt of their pants,
One belt snapped with such power…,
And then there where three.

Three little black ants,
Found two sparkling watches,
And accidentally put Lilly in a trance,
All she could see was splotches,
So then there was two,

Two little black ants,
Wendy and Tina were their names,
They began to hop and prance,
Tina got sick of these silly games,
So then there was one.

One little black ant,
She stands all alone,
Then meet an ant named Grant,
"Marry me" she said in a happy tone.
So now there is none.

The Children of the early Days

by Georgia

I love to see the children play,
Among the lush green grass,
As they run home to tell their parents,
They passed the final class.
The children go out to roam the town,
The girls are to be ever careful,
Not too dirty their new gown.
They must be home early,
For tucker and a drink,
Then tuck in quietly and go to sleep.
In the morning, a ride to school,
Upon their father's cart,
The children line up beautifully,
Outside the classroom,
For here comes the cleaner,
With her little broom,
The teacher opens the door,
1,2,3 children, but still there's more,
At the end of the day the children,
So happily walk out the door

One Unforgettable Day
by Georgia

Rushing through the forest,
Their cries full of fear,
They're all alone,

Standing in is the tiny dee O r,
Lost in confusion,
Afraid to move a bone,

For he is getting closer,
Rustling in the bushes,
Aiming his shiny gun,

Just as she begins to roam,
She sees the bushes moving,
She tries to dart,

But she can't move a bone,
He aims his gun,
She tries to move,

But it's too late

He pulls the trigger ,a cracking sound
Her side is hurting badly,
As she falls upon the ground,

What was once a lovely baby deer,
Is now one hunter's pride,
Her head upon his wall,

Oh the hunter was so thoughtless,
For one life of a little baby is lost,
Just to make a hunter proud

On one unforgettable day

In Too Deep
by Georgia

In shallow water,
Where dolphins play,
One of the smallest,
Drifts slowly away,

Deeper and deeper,
She drifts away,
Until she finds,
Another dolphin to play,

They find a bottle,
Made of glass,
And grab it,
In their grasp,

She grabs it too tight
The bottle slowly cracks,
It shatters,
Shooting glass into their backs,

They whimper in pain,
As the glass cuts their skin,
Blood trickling everywhere,
Mother rushes to her baby, little Kin,

But she is to late,
Little Kin is dead,
Mother weeps slowly,
As she heads home, drooping her head,

When the other dolphins,
Hear about this,
They swim to her body,
To give her one last kiss,

They will miss the bubbly dolphin,
And her silly ways,
As they push her body,
Out to sea, far away
