Wallabies

By Chrissy-Jane Kou

--------------

During the weekend we had another encounter with the wallaby. Whenever I see it I give it an apple, the closest I've been is 50 cm. Sometimes it eats my mum's flowers so we have to scare it away but now it's not afraid of us. We have had five of them in our area.

Our area is 5 acres of bush land. There was an echidna under our caravan once. My dad made his own bird feeder with spare wood and kookaburras, rosellas, cockies, magpies and bellbirds come and eat the food.

Down in our bush there is a creek where yabbies live. Only sometimes a wombat comes out at dark. We used to have silkies, they are a type of chook, but foxes came and killed them.

At night at the Country and Golf Club often see ring tail and brush tails possums.
