GUIDING PRINCIPLESEmerald Primary School is committed to the provision of a stimulating, happy and safe environment where each child has the opportunity to fully develop academically, socially, emotionally and physically. Our school is committed to equal opportunity, provision of student support and the integration of students with disabilities. PHYSICAL FEATURES
Our grounds feature a well grassed oval, adventure playground areas, a separate junior play-equipment facility and asphalt areas, including netball and basketball courts. Large gums provide ample shade in the summer months and our gardens feature many beautiful deciduous and native trees and shrubs. BROAD CURRICULUMThe key learning areas of English, Mathematics, the Arts, Science/ Technology, Health and Physical Education, Japanese and Studies of Society and the Environment are included in a five year cycle of evaluation. This curriculum is complemented by camps and excursions, swimming programs, visiting performers, speakers and the teaching of instrumental music. Religious Education is an option taught throughout the school. School Uniform is available for purchase from the school and its usage is strongly recommended by the Emerald Primary School Council. PARENTAL INVOLVEMENTInformation to parents is provided through weekly Newsletters, consultations, questionnaires, formal parent teacher interviews and the opportunity to contact the school whenever necessary. Parents are welcome partners at Emerald Primary School - opportunities exist for participation in school life through membership of our School Council, Parent's Group, Education Committee or through direct classroom involvement.
