Our worms turn food waste into soil Experimenting with compost materials

We also made our own paper from old worksheets and newspapers. We enjoyed doing Science experiments looking at various properties of paper products. We tested for levels of absorbency, used lenses to observe the layers of fibres and looked at the effects of tearing the product.

At our school we compost our food scraps and send off our scrap paper to a recycling centre.

"I have learnt a lot about recycling and I will recycle more things now. At home we do a lot of re-using and recycling and we improve every day and week. I love Australia and I want to keep the environment going !" by Tyson 3B
