(Talia's Report)

Yesterday we went to the Emerald R.S.L. We walked there with Mr McLean. We met some of the war survivors. We got to look around the R.S.L rooms. It was extremely interesting. There were lots of photos of the ships and aeroplanes. There was a funny looking sword, an aeroplane propeller and some newspaper articles.

Then we sat down and met some Vietnam war veterans. They said we could walk around their exhibition and pick up things without them blowing-up. So we went and looked around the exhibition. There were cigarette lighters, homemade booby-traps, boots, a model of the underground Vietnamese hide-out , a grenade, some bullets and a missile thing.

Then we got told that some ladies from the R.S.L. had been cooking some lunch for us. We were all surprised. We lined up and walked slowly into the kitchen. The ladies gave us a plate with 2 sausage rolls, 2 party pies and 2 frankfurts. We also got a serviette and a can of fizzy drink. This was extremely yum. After we’d eaten the food, we said thank-you and then we walked back to school.
