In the olden days they  used to play sport just like we do now but not so many.

Tegan is looking at the sport cup used by the school in 1930.  There are some old tennis racquets too.
The old Emerald football teams names were Bombers., they are still called that today.   The Emerald oval use d to be a plant farm where they grew pine trees . The team's clothes were the same but just baggy.   Near the Emerald Hall they built tennis courts in the 1930's ...they are still there.

Emerald won their first   Premier ship in cricket in 1921-1922. In 1930 they provided summer shelters for tennis courts.  The Emerald Tennis Club started during the first world war. 

The football club started in 1905. The first cricket ground in Emerald  (used before  the opening of Puffing Billy was in Memorial Avenue where the  R.S.L club rooms are now.
