Jessica's Report

On Tuesday the 14th of May we (5w) went to the Emerald R.S.L on Memorial Ave.
The Returned Services League are people that help us, young and old, remember the soldiers from the war.
Did you know that the Viet Cong soldiers used to live in tunnels underground? One lot were Cu-Chi tunnels.
During WW1 if Emerald soldiers died, the R.S.L planted a tree and put a memorabilia plate on it. They planted the trees on a avenue called Heroes Avenue, it's outside our school . If you go down there today you will see no trees because all of the trees have been chopped down.

All the memorabilia plates from the trees are now at the Emerald R.S.L for everyone to see.
The people from the R.S.L are very nice people and they told us a lot of information.
At the R.S.L there was a glass case full of things from the war there was hats, grenades, bullets, and medals.
