Grace's Report

On Tuesday the 14 of May two classes form our school visited the Emerald R.S.L. We walked all the way because it is not to far away from our school. As soon as we got their we had lunch which was really nice! After lunch we got tolled about Cu Chi tunnels & Booby traps.

Booby traps are made by "punge"sticks & "punge" sticks are made from bamboo with a pointy sharp top. The last thing you would want to do is to stand on one!

Around the edge of some of the Cu Chi tunnels you would find snake that has been pinned there so when the enemies came in if they didn't hold the snakes head you would get bitten & if they didn't get bitten they would probably get stuck around the shoulders. Lots of people in the army lived in them there even was a man that lived in there for 7 years & did never come out. The entrance of the tunnel was just a bit bigger then a match box.

In all three of the major wars like World War 1, World War 2 and the Vietnam War had some of the people came from Emerald invovled.

I LEARNT THAT WE WOULD NOT BE LIVING LIKE WE ARE TODAY IF THE FANTASTIC PEOPLE WHO WENT DID NOT FIGHT! BUT BECAUSE THEY DID WE HAVE GOT A VERY GOOD & HEALTHY COUNTRY.
