Emerald Lake today |
Emerald Lake was built in 1941 on some of the old Nobelius Land. It was named after Mr Trengown who owned the land. He gave the lake to the people. It is a place where you can rest and in there is a nice lake and there is a swimming pool and a water slide. Puffing Billy has bought many visitors since the lake started. Emerald Lake was built to pump water to the Nobelius farm .
But not every thing was perfect there. Well in 1930 there was heavy rain and was filling up the lake and it filled it up so bad it flooded and it flooded a bank and even the country club. But that is not all, in Emerald lake they used to grow flax flowers and a lady with long hair jumped in and unfortunately died by getting her hair stuck in the flax leaves and drowned. Another dramatic thing happened when the Lake's walls nearly collapsed in the 1980s. The council drained the lake and fixed it and in the end everything goes well down there now.
