Once,when she was in the Olympics she managed to win a gold metal for running.
Cathy Freeman was born in Mackey in Queensland in 1973. Cathyis a very good runner & won a scholarship to boarding school where she was able to have professional coaching. Cathy was the first Aboriginal sprinter to win a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games {1994}. Cathy had also won won a silver metal in the Olympic Games. Cathy is very proud of her Aboriginal background and has carried the Australian & Aboriginal flags around the track after winning a race. Cathy also appeared on television to encourage young person to live healthy livestyles & to do their best. Cathy was made young Australian of the year in 1990 and Australian of the year in 1998. Cathy was the first person to win both awards.
