This is another song written by John Shortis and commissioned by the Dandenong Ranges Music Council, who were supported with funding by Community Support Fund Victoria, Australia Council for the Arts, 1901-2001 A Federation Fund Project and the Shire of Yarra Ranges.

John held three workshops with various groups, including 20 children from our school. Using ideas suggested at these workshops he wrote and prepared the backing for the finished song and it was given its premiere performance by a big group of children from our school on Sunday, February 25th, at the Nobelius Heritage Nursery Family Day.

An even larger group performed it on February 28th in the biggest amphitheatre at Emerald Lake as part of a day organised by the Puffing Billy Society exactly 100 years to the day after a picnic held in Ferntree Gully to celebrate Federation.
